Back to Black voted UK’s favourite Amy Winehouse song

In celebration of BACK TO BLACK, the highly anticipated film which charts the life and music of Amy Winehouse, a result of a nationwide poll to find the UK’s favourite Amy Winehouse songs was announced today.

With thousands of votes cast online, and promoted by an installation that toured Manchester, Glasgow and London, “BACK TO BLACK” was chosen as the UK’s favourite Amy Winehouse song.

This was followed closely by “TEARS DRY ON THEIR OWN”, one of six tracks from the album Back To Black that featured in the Top 10, alongside “LOVE IS A LOSING GAME”“ME & MR JONES” and “REHAB”

Songs such as “FUCK ME PUMPS” and “STRONGER THAN ME” from Winehouse’s debut album Frank were also hugely popular, as well as lesser known tracks from the posthumously released Lioness, including “BETWEEN THE CHEATS” and her cover of the Shirelles’ classic, “WILL YOU STILL LOVE ME TOMORROW?”.

At the World Premiere, which took place in Leicester Square on Monday 8th April, cast and filmmakers also had their say. Marisa Abela (Amy Winehouse), Jack O’Connell (Blake Fielder-Civil) and Sam Buchanan (Nick Shymansky) all opted for “TEARS DRY ON THEIR OWN”;Eddie Marsan (Mitch Winehouse) chose Amy’s duet with Paul Weller “DON’T GO TO STRANGERS”;producer Alison Owen voted for “LOVE IS A LOSING GAME”; whilst director Sam Taylor-Johnson fittingly chose “BACK TO BLACK”.
