Cast: Harriet Slater, Arsema Thomas Tom Brittney, Virginia Gardner Review by Matthew Morlai Kamara![]()
What begins as a heartfelt tribute quickly becomes a desperate fight for survival, when a catastrophic rockslide traps them thousands of feet up. With no way up and no way down every breath becomes a battle against gravity exposure and one terrifying truth that one wrong move means certain death.
The film soars in its pure unfiltered tension. The camera never shies away from the sheer drop below and every creaking plank or slipping foothold jolts with genuine gut level impact. Slater and Thomas deliver grounded committed performances that keep the stakes terrifyingly real. Where it stumbles is in overcomplicating things. Unnecessary flashbacks, overworked emotional beats and a few late twists stretch credibility and slow the relentless momentum that makes the best sequences so effective.
Having myself tackled some of the world’s most heart stopping high altitude paths over the years from the jagged cliff edges of Cornwall and Devon to the dizzying heights of Greece, this film hits close to home. Those moments where the ground falls away are not just movie magic, they are real sensations I know well. It was a fear I carried for years until my endlessly inspiring partner helped me face it and climb right past it. That personal connection makes every tense scene land harder because I know exactly that quiet breathless thrill of standing on the edge.
Fall 2 Deadpoint may not match the tight stripped back perfection of the first film but it still delivers a solid, pulse racing thrill ride that keeps you on the edge of your seat. A worthy nail-biting return to the heights.
