Review by Carlie Newman
She returns to eastern Wyoming in order to see her daughter who was taken from her while she was chained to the hospital bed during her prison sentence.
Scotty’s parents, Grace (Lauren Graham) and Patrick (Bradley Whitford) refuse to allow Kenna to see her daughter as they believe her to be responsible for their son‘s death. The only person who supports her is Ledger (Tyriq Withers), the owner of a bar and Scotty’s best friend. Ledger has grown close to Kenna’s daughter (Zoe Kosovic) and understands her longing to gain access.
We gradually learn what really happened during the car accident, mainly through letters that Kenna pens to her dead lover. While the ending is not hard to forecast, the movie has a good cast who emote appropriately. There is a lovely cameo by Monika Myers as Kenna’s neighbour, a young woman with Down syndrome. Part of the trouble with the film is the storyline which is not really believable. But it is an easy watch and not too long!
