Her goal? To finally talk to the animals and understand their hidden world. But things get complicated when she gets caught up in the internal politics of the forest, led by the cheerful King George (Bobby Moynihan). Will she be successful in protecting their home from the ambitious Mayor Jerry (Jon Hamm)?
Honestly, can we just take a break from the grit and the gloom for a second? If you’ve been feeling like your local cinema has turned into a permanent place of darkness lately, I’ve got some positive, electrifying news for you. This latest flick from Pixar will make you feel like someone has finally pulled back the curtains and let the spring sunshine pour right into our lives. With the Easter holidays just around the corner, this is the ultimate treat for families. I’ve officially given up sweets for Lent (pray for me, because the struggle is real!), but watching Hoppers was so deliciously sweet that it almost made up for my lack of chocolate. It’s a sugary, candy-coated masterpiece that gives you a natural high without the expensive dental bill.

I absolutely adored every single second of this film. It’s bubbly, it’s refreshing and it’s just simply joyful. The animation is bright, and bursting with personality. It is perfect for younger kids and there is so much heart packed into the story. And funnily enough even us big kids will find themselves enjoying this just as much, leaving with a massive grin on our faces.
Then there is the sheer calibre of acting talent involved. The legendary Meryl Streep voices The Insect Queen, and Jon Hamm is just absolutely brilliant as the over-the-top Mayor Jerry. Then you’ve got Bobby Moynihan, who is total greatness as King George. You can hear and feel the positive energy and just how much fun they had recording their voiceovers in the studio together.
Visually, Pixar have truly outdone themselves once again. You’ll be buzzing about how everything looks so lovely you’ll want to reach out and touch the screen, it’s all so lush and vibrant. Not forgetting the catchy score by Mark Mothersbaugh.
We really need more of this type of product. There’s far too much darkness in movies nowadays and Hoppers the perfect antidote. So grab your kids and check out this delightful movie together.
